The 2018 ASAIHL Conference will be held from March 26th to March 28th (Supported by: MEXT, Hachioji City) at Soka University (Hachioji City, Tokyo / President: Yoshihisa Baba). ASAIHL was founded in 1956 as a non-governmental organization to assist member institutions to strengthen themselves through mutual self-help and to achieve international distinction in teaching, research and public service. An international organization, 25 countries and regions including Europe and North America are represented. There are also 5 representatives from Japan: Soka University, Kyoto University, Hiroshima University, Keio University, and University of the Ryukyus.
It will be the first time the annual conference will be held in Japan.
With the theme "Higher Education for Diversity and Global Citizenship", the main speakers will be Dr. Kimura Tsutomu, advisor of the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education, Vice Chancellor of Kyung Hee University in Korea; and Dr. William Gaudelli, professor of Teachers College Columbia University in the USA. Furthermore, 113 researchers related to Higher Learning will give speeches at various sessions.
